<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">YAMUNANAGAR: Demonstration how to use Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for the benefit of voters in the different development blocks of the district is in progress and all the nook and corner would be covered by April 15, said Mr Vijayendra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer here on Thursday.
<br /><br />Mr Kumar further said that the demonstration for the use of EVMs to voters in the five development blocks of the district has already been completed and in remaining two development block it is in progress and will be completed by April 15th. <br /><br />He added that EVM shall be used in all the segments of Ambala and Kurukshetra parliamentary constituencies falling in this district in the forthcoming General Elections. He further said that rehearsal for training about use of Electronic Voting Machines is in progress in the district for the Presiding Officers and Alternate Presiding Officers. <br /><br />The District Election Officer further informed about the schedule for General Elections of Lok Sabha for which Notification would be issued on April 16. Last date of filing nomination would be April 23, Scrutiny of Nomination papers April 24 and Last date of withdrawal of candidature would be April 26. <br /><br />Date of poll in the district would be May 10 and Counting of votes would be on May 13th. The Election process shall be completed before May 25 as per the announcement made by Election Commission of India. Mr. Kumar said that Model Code of Conduct has come into force from 29.2.2004 i.e. the date of announcement of poll made by the Commission. <br /><br />A meeting of all political parties would be held in the Secretariat on Wednesday to ensure complete implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for free and fair elections. <br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
